At Altadena Recovery Center, we offer a comprehensive range of professional treatment services designed to meet every individual where they are in their recovery journey. Located in the foothills of Altadena, California and serving the greater Pasadena and Los Angeles area, our team of licensed and certified professionals is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that addresses the whole person, mind, body, and spirit.
Recovery is not a one-size-fits-all process. That is why our services are designed to be flexible, individualized, and responsive to the evolving needs of each client. Whether you are entering treatment for the first time, returning after a relapse, or transitioning out of a higher level of care, Altadena Recovery Center has the programs and support systems in place to help you succeed. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) brings together a full continuum of services under one roof, giving clients access to everything they need to build a strong foundation for lasting sobriety.
Every journey at Altadena Recovery Center begins with a thorough clinical assessment. Our licensed professionals conduct an in-depth evaluation of each client's substance use history, mental health background, medical needs, and personal goals. This assessment forms the foundation of an individualized treatment plan tailored specifically to that person, ensuring that the care they receive is both appropriate and effective from day one.
Sustainable recovery extends far beyond the walls of a treatment center. Altadena Recovery Center actively connects clients with vital community resources including employment assistance, housing support, educational opportunities, and vocational training programs. By addressing these real-world needs alongside clinical treatment, we help clients rebuild stable, purposeful lives and reduce the risk of relapse linked to environmental stressors.
Each client is paired with a dedicated case manager who serves as their primary point of contact throughout the treatment process. Our case managers coordinate services, monitor progress, advocate for client needs, and help navigate any barriers that may arise during recovery. This one-on-one support ensures that no client ever feels alone and that every aspect of their care is working together seamlessly.
Relapse prevention is one of the most critical components of any successful recovery program. Our facilitated group sessions teach clients to identify personal triggers, recognize warning signs, and develop practical coping strategies to maintain their sobriety during high-risk situations. Clients leave these sessions with a personalized relapse prevention plan and the skills to put it into action when it matters most.
As a 12-step based program, Altadena Recovery Center integrates the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous into the fabric of our treatment approach. Regular 12-step meeting participation helps clients connect with a broader recovery community, develop accountability, find mentorship through sponsorship, and embrace the spiritual dimensions of healing that have helped millions of people worldwide achieve lasting sobriety.
Process groups provide clients with a structured yet open space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in real time with peers who understand the challenges of recovery. Led by licensed therapists, these groups encourage honest self-reflection, emotional processing, and interpersonal growth. The connections formed in process groups often become some of the most powerful and lasting relationships clients build during treatment.
Knowledge is a powerful tool in recovery. Our chemical dependency education groups provide clients with accurate, science-based information about how addiction affects the brain, body, and behavior. Understanding the nature of substance use disorders helps reduce shame, build self-awareness, and motivate clients to engage more fully in their own treatment and long-term recovery.
Addiction affects the entire family, and the parent-child relationship is often among the most impacted. Our parenting classes are designed to support clients in rebuilding and strengthening their relationships with their children. Topics include effective communication, setting healthy boundaries, managing stress, and creating a stable, nurturing home environment all essential elements of family healing and recovery.
Regular drug testing is an important component of our accountability-based treatment model. It provides objective documentation of sobriety, supports early identification of relapse, and helps clients demonstrate their commitment to recovery to themselves, their families, and legal or professional entities as needed. Testing is conducted with dignity and respect as part of a supportive, not punitive, care environment.
The intersection of substance use and domestic violence is well documented, and healing from both requires specialized, trauma-informed support. Our domestic violence groups provide a safe and confidential space for clients to address the impact of violence and abuse in their lives, develop healthier relationship patterns, and access appropriate community resources. These groups are facilitated by professionals trained in trauma and domestic violence intervention.
Unmanaged anger is one of the most common triggers for relapse and destructive behavior. Our anger management groups teach clients evidence-based techniques for recognizing anger cues, regulating emotional responses, and communicating assertively rather than aggressively. Developing healthy anger management skills is a vital part of building the emotional resilience needed for long-term sobriety and healthier relationships.
Completing a treatment program is a tremendous achievement, but the transition back to everyday life requires careful planning and continued support. Our clinical team works with each client well in advance of discharge to develop a comprehensive aftercare plan that includes step-down treatment recommendations, sober living options, 12-step meeting schedules, ongoing therapy referrals, and emergency contact resources to support continued recovery.
Our structured weekly program gives clients a consistent, supportive daily routine built around healing, education, and community. Monday through Friday 9am to 7pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm.
